The drink will only be available in a new and unique single-serve 14-oz PET bottle. Around town I have seen it retail for 1.59 to 1.99. MDX's exclusive packaging is convenient, portable and features a re-sealable cap and easy-to-grip bottle. It also has a awesome neon green look to it.

The Mountain Dew MDX commercial is a big hit with consumers. Lionel Richie song All Night Long with many nocturnal animals singing. Here is a link in case you have not seen it. They have a popular game on the website, "Nocturnal Cab Company" Check it out.

Could this be the first energy drink that tastes good? Most initial reviews have been very good. Many people prefer it over the taste of AMP Energy. I have heard many comments about how it tastes like Surge. Will this Mountain Dew Energy Soda be as big of a hit as AMP Energy drink? Only time will tell...

Older Info
In the summer of 2005, Mountain Dew began beta testing a new kind a Mountain Dew. Mountain Dew X is the tentative title for a new flavor of Mountain Dew, rumored to be a new energy drink. A "beta test" of the new soft drink was conducted in 2005 through the Mountain Dew web site. Six-packs were also given to selected attendees at the 2005 E3 videogame trade show. Individual cans were released at the XBox 360 introduction party at 2005 E3 as well. Little is currently known about the flavor of the new beverage, but by all accounts it tastes very similar to original Mountain Dew, with the exception of a mild bitter aftertaste, likely from the addition of the energy drink roots and extracts. Its tentative release date is November 1, 2005.
